September 13 - 14

Thank you for agreeing to be an instructor at our annual convention. We are excited to be venturing into the digital realm and all that it has to offer. We realize that for many of you, this will be your first time teaching online and want the process to be as seamless as possible.

Below you will find some important information about the process. Please read carefully and save for future reference.

The deadline for all videos to be taped and for your presentations/handouts to be submitted is Friday, August 14. Because of our quick turnaround time, this is a firm deadline.

The CCSA has partnered with Total Brand Experience (TBX) to facilitate the recording of our classes and the online experience for our attendees. They will be responsible for managing and collection of presentations, setting up of your meeting schedule, instructions on taping, and any other technological questions you may have as an instructor. Unlike years past where you submitted items directly to the CCSA, this year, TBX will be your main point of contact for your video, collecting presentations, etc. It is important that if you get an email and/or phone call from TBX, that you reply directly to them.

Your TBX contact is: Laine Thelian |

Recording of your videos:

  • TBX will be hosting a one-hour Instructor Training Session on Monday, July 20 at 12PM EST. You will be receiving a link to register for this meeting in the coming week.
  • TBX will be recording classes from July 27 - August 14. They will show you how to register for your slot during the July 20th meeting.
  • Once you have gone through the Instructor Training Session and booked your recording time, we request that prior to recording your official class video, that you submit a brief video of you in the space that you plan on using to host your class complete with lighting, sound, setup, etc. to Hillary Moulliet (with CCSA), so that she can check to ensure that it is visually and sound pleasing presentation. Please make sure you submit this at least 4 business days prior to your scheduled taping.
  • TBX has also created a Speakers Guide to walk you through the process, give you directions, and answer your questions. You can find this guide HERE. If you have any additional questions after reading the guide, please contact your TBX representative.
  • If you are teaching a Technique class that attendees will be following along, you should also create and record a video of just the technique being done before your recording date with TBX. This video will be edited in along with the video of you talking to create a cohesive video including both shots of you as well as the technique/project. TBX will cover this in their Instructor Training Class, however, if you have additional questions, please reach out to your TBX representative directly.

Your class presentations/handouts:

  • TBX will be collecting your presentations/handouts this year. These need to be sent to TBX prior to your taping date.  If you are not going to show a presentation during your taping and have this as a handout, you can submit when you submit the day of your taping.
  • If you are teaching a technique class, please remember to include step-by-step instructions, photo of finished project, supply list, and any patterns needed to recreate your design.
  • Your presentations/handouts must be in PowerPoint. TBX has created a template for you to use - you can find that template HERE. This template is a guide, if you are not familiar with PowerPoint, or formatting, TBX asks that you reach out to them directly to help you through the process.
  • If you are unfamiliar with PowerPoint or would like some helpful tips on creating a Killer Presentation, TBX has created a Guide to Creating a GREAT PowerPoint Presentation and you can download it by clicking HERE.
  • Reminder, a presentation is an option, but not a requirement.

Class Schedule:

  • Although we will be pre-recording all classes this year, our schedule will include allowing attendees to select a class during each of the 4 sessions available each day and will have the instructor available to do live Q & A with you at the conclusion of the class (10-minutes). The CCSA will be releasing that schedule soon with your specific class(es) listed including date and time that you will need to be available and online. TBX will provide you with a login and instructions on how to access this area of their site.
  • TBX will include your 10-minute Q & A session along with the recording for attendees to watch later in the recorded release of your class.

Class Surveys:

We will continue to provide attendees with a quick survey to complete after they have attended/watched your class. These surveys will be shared with you following convention. We encourage you to include a reminder to attendees to complete the survey.

Registering for Convention:

Our Convention Registration will open for attendee and exhibitor registration on Wednesday, July 15th. If your company is an exhibitor, please ensure they have you listed so you will have credentials to allow you onto our virtual platform. If you are a studio member who is teaching, but also planning on attending convention as an attendee, please be sure you register when registration is open. Instructors who are not exhibitors and/or paying convention attendees, will only have access to the instructor area to teach your class within our convention site and not allowed access to other areas. All dues must be current at the time of convention. You will be sent information on how to register as an attendee in the coming days.

Class Sponsorship:

If you have a supplier member sponsoring your class or you are a supplier member teaching a class, we have allowed for sponsorship advertising within your specific class. We have a few classes that do not already have a sponsor attached to them and we are offering those classes up to Exhibitors to purchase a sponsorship. This is a $300 value.

If you are uncertain of the sponsor assigned to your class, please contact

Instructors are responsible for getting sponsor needs below to TBX ( You can contact your sponsor/supplier directly and send them this information.

This sponsorship includes:
  • Opportunity for up to a 30-second video/commercial to play at start of class and at end of class.
  • Logo on clickable banner up the entire length of class. This can be linked to their exhibitor page in our Exhibit Hall.
  • The CCSA has provided TBX with a list of class sponsors, you or the sponsor will need to send the video and a high resolution logo directly to E.J. at TBX by August 13. Please include the name of the class, the instructor name, and the name of the supplier exhibit hall to linked to.

If you or your class sponsor do not submit any materials, the CCSA reserves the right to use that opportunity for another sponsor or additional marketing opportunities.

Again, thank you for agreeing to be a part of this new and exciting distance learning experience. And we look forward to seeing your classes!
