How to show appreciation for job well done?

Can I ask what any of y'all do for really great employees? I have 2 girls who have been with me for well over a year and they are great! They go above and beyond the call of duty. I've given them raises to go with their good work already. But now I'm looking for small appreciation ideas for their hard work.

Thanks!

I have been contemplating the same thing lately, especially since I just got hit HARD with the flu bug and my employees stepped right up with staffing to cover MY shifts and taking care of one of our busiest weeks yet.

All my girls love to paint ceramics so I give them "Pottery Bucks". You know, basically a Plaster Playhouse gift certificate. I don't give this out often, but when I do, it is really deserved. We also have a Cookies By Design a mile down the road. Every now and then I pop in there before work and custom order a huge cookie on a stick for one or two of them that deserve it. It costs $6 and is so cute and personalized just for them. They make a paint pallette cookie for us and the girls love it. Sometimes it is nice to say "Thanks" with something other than words (and raises can end up costing us a lot). It always made me feel on top of the world when my hard work was recognized.

Plus "random acts of kindness" goes both ways!

Our August staff meeting is going to take place at the manicure place around the corner from the store. No one knows this yet, except my store manager. We're going to meet at the store for a few minutes, and then I'm "ordering" everyone to get a pedicure. And I think I'm going to have dessert waiting on us when we get there.

Since half my staff is underaged, no champagne, but wouldn't that be even better?

And sometimes I just give them a note and a $20 in an envelope.

I've been known to tip them out of my pocket when they've had a long tough day & worked really hard. Even $10 means alot on a day they've worked their buns off for me.

My staff has really stepped up lately dealing with the move and my craziness that has come with it. In August, we're having a pool party at my house with dinner so we can all relax. My supervisor was also gifted with a $60 spa gift certificate (which I got on sale for 1/2 price!) for working at home on projects after she had worked all day in-studio.

I like to give extra money on days that have been crazy and they've put in extra effort.... I also like to give them movie passes and mall gift certificates... they all seem to like them. Sometimes, I'll buy them dinner.. order in to the studio while they're on my dime! I don't pay my employees top dollar, so when we make extra money, I like to share with them... they're truly part of my team, and on those crazy days, I just couldn't do it without them.

Following Jenn's lead at Paint Yourself Silly, I do a monthly game night at my house with my staff. We play board games, eat stuff that is bad for us, all the soda we can drink. It's a really good time and a chance to just have time as a staff. It always ends up that we have at least one discussion about some insane customer or weird situation. But mostly conversation runs to what's happening in their worlds. Who's dating who, who's parent is driving them crazy, and other general teenager talk. This month we instituted the "Celbrity Guest Star" to game night. We decide on which favorite customer gets invited and they are allowed to join in. It really is a hoot!
