Fantastic Marketing Opportunity

I just cannot believe my luck. As some of you know I am booked into a rather posh garden centre one day a week for the 6 week summer holidays. They have put an item on their website about which gives people a link to my website (really good news that).

They emailed me this morning and asked me to do some posters that can be displayed in the garden centre, and while I was there I said did they want some small flyers to put on the counter? Yes she said, and while you are at it are you interested in having a flyer put into the info bags for a huge musical weekend, how many flyers would you like I said politely? Several thousand if possible she said!!!!!!!!

Well I've picked myself up off the floor now and am putting together a postcard size flyer which on the front will obviously advertise the sessions at the garden centre, but, on the back well might just have to mention all the other stuff I do and of course the phone number, the website etc.

And all this is freeeeeeeeee! The Garden Centre are even offering a 10% off voucher on anything adults buy at the centre when they bring children to paint with me. How good is that.

I would put some sort of offer on the flyer so you can track which customers came from this event.

Thanks everyone - Kami have amended my flyer to include offer thanks for reminding me.

Thank you Rhi for the quick flyer printing service suggestion. I have just heard the estate where the garden centre is situated is expecting 15,000, yes I said 15,000 visitors for their events this week, so the more flyers I can get in there the better.

My printer is just not up to those quantities and local printers are saying they must have a week at least and their prices reflect the fact that they do not really want to do this work.

The garden centre has also linked to my website, how cool is that.

Who was it who said: The harder I work the luckier I get?

I'm impressed Moira - you should be able to reach a really diverse market.

To the other person who works at the garden centre who thought she could just cruise on in...put that in your pipe!

I'm trying to look at this from the angle of the Garden Centre - they obviously see you as an asset for their marketing. It's a win-win situation. There's definitely an enlightened person making decisions there.

... now being very cheeky - do garden centres in UK have a trade magazine, and if so might you suggest to them they do an article about the benefits of your relationship?

Thumbs up You're such an inspiration

Thanks for posting your success Moira! You're such an inspiration, especially for us small baby mobiles that are just starting out. The local B&G Club booked me for 50 kids in two weeks, as a result of my Farmer's Market appearance last Saturday . It will be split into two sessions of 25 each, younger children and older children. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. I just got back from dropping off the contract for their signature and review.

Rosalynn that is fantastic - thats 50 new contacts who will be receiving your flyers in the not too distant future. That is how mobile businesses grow, bit by bit. Keep talking to anyone about what you do as the opportunity arises when you are painting with people, they will think you only do what you are doing with them and then suddenly the penny drops and they realise all the other things you could help them with.

You Rock on, Moira!

I'm sooooooo excited for you! I drove thru your neck of the woods once many moons ago so I've forgotten just how large an area you serve... but, however big it is you should hold on to your proverbial hat 'coz I see this "little" venture being the one that rockets you and your studio to permanent new heights!

Be ready for it... Unbelieveable success is forthcoming!

I'm just thrilled for you!

Now, when will you be hosting an online marketing/business development strategy session for little guys?!

SIGN ME UP!

Moira- you are obviuosly too busy to worry about your "garden centre (center?) friend". I think I posted something to the effect that you shouldn't worry- because you would always be a step ahead, only I should have said you'd always be 5 steps ahead! I haven't heard more about my friend 5 miles to the North, either. anyway- FANTASTIC! Your next step maybe to hire help on an "as needed" basis.

Kim my aim is to be as busy as I need to be, without having to hire staff. There are exceptions to every rule I know, and at Christmas when I do work with schools at fairs which only last 2 hours and a flat out I have some really nice ladies who think its fun and are great to have around who line up to help.

When I set out my other events I do it so I can work hard but not have too much to cope with.
