I started Do*It*Yourself Craft in 1999 after having all the fun I could stand in the corporate world. After a "career" that lead me through sports promotion, engineering project management, and retail accounting, I decided to go to law school. Then I realized that I did not, in fact, want to be a lawyer. While trying to decide what I did want to do, however, I kept finding myself in craft stores. A little more "introspection" led me to starting my own business, and that business is DIYC.
The CCSA Board has given me a great opportunity to meet so many wonderful studio owners.
In addition to the CCSA, I volunteer as a board member for Magic City Art Connection, a wonderful fine art festival here in Birmingham. I'm also a member of the Service Guild, which provides early intervention for at-need children. Last year (just before Christmas of course because who is busy then?), I had a little boy named Henry. My husband Michael attended his first convention this past year, and he's still amazed at how talented we all are.
And even though I live in Alabama, I do not have a Southern accent. No matter what anyone says!
